Ex-Cradle of Filth Member Explains If Her Career Is Over After Dani Filth Feud

Former Cradle of Filth keyboardist Zoë M. Federoff recently addressed concerns about her career following her departure from the band and subsequent public dispute with frontman Dani Filth. She shared her response on Instagram.

The statement came in response to a fan’s direct question about the potential impact on her professional future.

A Cradle of Filth fan asked Federoff via Instagram, “Don’t worry you’ve ended your career?” Federoff provided a candid response about her priorities and current situation.

“Some things are more important than a career. One of those is the truth. But no, I’m not worried at this point,” Federoff said.

She continued to explain the positive reception she and her husband have received since their departure from the band.

“Actually, both Ashok and I have gotten more opportunities and offers since we chose this path,” she continued. “The support we got from the industry was incredible and humbling. I don’t think either of us are even close to done.”

The controversy surrounding the departures has created significant upheaval within the band. Both sides have presented conflicting accounts of the events that led to the split.

Loudwire reported that Dani Filth responded officially to the dismissal of Marek Šmerda. He described the band as being in a “state of shock” over the accusations and labeled them “completely unjust and unfounded.” The frontman assured fans that the band would continue their South American tour with a temporary replacement guitarist.

The internal conflicts reportedly involved multiple serious issues. Consequence of Sound covered Dani Filth’s extensive public statement, which mentioned problems including heavy drinking, pregnancy complications, and volatile communications with management and others in the metal industry.

Federoff’s initial departure from the band occurred mid-tour for what she described as personal reasons. Vice noted that she requested privacy and urged fans to support her replacement, Kelsey Peters. She praised Peters as “one of the greatest singers I’ve ever been privileged to hear.”

“Some things are more important than a career. One of those is the truth. But no, I’m not worried at this point,” Federoff had stated, emphasizing her commitment to speaking out despite potential professional consequences.

Despite the internal turmoil, Cradle of Filth has maintained its touring commitments. The band continues their South American dates and is extending shows into Mexico, demonstrating their determination to move forward amid the controversy.
