Brittany Furlan Lee, wife of Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee, recently defended bandmate Vince Neil against fan criticism. She revealed details about his health struggles in a statement shared on Instagram.
The statement came in response to fan concerns about Neil’s recent performances and health condition.
A Mötley Crüe fan asked: “Didn’t Vince Neil have a stroke?”
“He did. He’s a warrior,” Brittany Furlan Lee responded. “Kept it under wraps forever… And people were giving him shit when he was still performing while trying to heal. He’s doing great.”

Her comments shed light on the challenges Neil faced while continuing to perform despite his health issues. She criticized fans who were unaware of his condition while judging his performances.
Furlan Lee’s defense of Neil comes after the vocalist’s remarkable recovery from a severe health crisis that threatened his career. The stroke occurred during what should have been a celebratory period for the legendary rock band.
Fox News reported that Neil suffered a severe stroke last Christmas that left his entire left side paralyzed. The medical emergency forced him to relearn basic motor functions, including walking, as he faced an uncertain future regarding his ability to perform.
Despite the grim prognosis from medical professionals, Neil remained determined to return to the stage. “Doctors said they didn’t think I’d be able to go back on stage again. I go, ‘No, no, I’m gonna do it. Watch and see,’” he shared, demonstrating the resilience that Furlan Lee described as warrior-like.
The stroke’s impact extended beyond Neil’s personal health. It affected the band’s professional commitments. Metal Injection noted that Mötley Crüe was forced to cancel part of their Las Vegas residency to allow Neil time to recover through months of intensive physical therapy at his Nashville home.
Nearly ten months after the stroke, The Rock Revival confirmed that Neil has made significant progress in his recovery, stating he is about 95% back to normal. His determination and rehabilitation efforts have allowed him to return to performing. This proves his resilience to both fans and critics who questioned his abilities during his recovery period.
