Trivium has announced that Greyson Nekrutman will be joining the band as their drummer for upcoming performances, following their recent parting of ways with Alex Bent. The announcement was shared on Trivium’s Facebook page.
The band revealed their new lineup addition in an official statement. They confirmed Nekrutman’s involvement for their immediate tour dates.
“Trivium welcomes Greyson Nekrutman on the drums,” Trivium said. “Catch him at After Shock Festival and on our Fall Tour with Jinjer and Heriot.”
Sepultura also addressed the temporary nature of Nekrutman’s involvement with Trivium. They clarified his future with their own band.
“As many of you may already know, our drummer Greyson Nekrutman has temporarily joined our friends from Trivium as their drummer,” Sepultura posted. “In 2026, he’ll be back with Sepultura, resuming his place in the band as we continue our farewell tour. Stay tuned for new tour dates coming soon!”

The drummer change comes after Trivium and Alex Bent amicably ended their nine-year partnership. This marks a significant shift in the band’s lineup.
Blabbermouth reported that Trivium announced Bent’s departure on October 3, 2025, just one day before their Aftershock Festival performance. The split was described as mutual and amicable. Both parties expressed respect and gratitude for their time together.
“This is by no means the end of my path as a musician,” Bent stated. He expressed excitement for his future musical endeavors while thanking Trivium and their fans for nine years of collaboration.
Nekrutman made his live debut with Trivium at the Aftershock Festival on October 4, 2025. Metal Insider noted that the drummer brings significant experience to his new role. He previously worked with Suicidal Tendencies in addition to his current position with Sepultura. He will continue performing with Trivium throughout their “The Ascend Above The Ashes” North American tour, which runs from October 31 to December 14. Supporting acts include Jinjer and Heriot.
The arrangement between Trivium and Sepultura appears to be collaborative. It allows Nekrutman to fulfill his commitments with Trivium while maintaining his position with Sepultura. He will return to Sepultura in 2026 to continue their farewell tour. This demonstrates the supportive relationship between the two metal bands.
