Anne Burrell’s husband found her unresponsive in shower, body was cold: report
Anne Burrell’s cold body was reportedly found on the shower floor by her husband hours after he had last seen her alive.
The Food Network star’s husband, Stuart Claxton, found Burrell unconscious in the bathroom early on the morning of Tuesday, June 17, law enforcement sources told TMZ on Wednesday.
Claxton had last seen his celebrity chef wife alive around 1 a.m., and he reportedly discovered her “between six and seven hours later.”

After calling 911, Claxton was allegedly advised to begin performing CPR on Burrell. She was pronounced dead at the scene once emergency services arrived at around 7:50 a.m.
Burrell’s loved ones announced her shocking passing on Tuesday. She was 55.
“Anne was a beloved wife, sister, daughter, stepmother and friend – her smile lit up every room she entered,” they said in a statement.
“Anne’s light radiated far beyond those she knew, touching millions across the world,” her family added. “Though she is no longer with us, her warmth, spirit and boundless love remain eternal.”

The New York City Police Department later confirmed that Burrell was found “unconscious and unresponsive” at her Brooklyn home on Tuesday morning and pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesperson for the New York City Fire Department also told that a 911 caller claimed Burrell suffered a “cardiac arrest” and she was “DOA [dead on arrival].”
Her official cause of death has not yet been revealed, as the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will announce the manner and cause when the autopsy is completed.

Burrell had performed an improv comedy show at the Second City New York in Brooklyn just hours before her sudden passing.
“Everyone said she was so great last night and so happy,” someone at the show on Monday night told People after the news of Burrell’s death was announced.
Another source claimed the Food Network star “was in great spirits” both “during and after the improv show.”

“Typical fun, outgoing Anne, having a blast,” they said, adding that everyone was left “shocked and confused” about Burrell’s death because she seemed fine upon leaving the show at the end of the night.
Although Burrell starred on several Food Network shows, she was perhaps best known for hosting “Worst Cooks in America” for 27 seasons and “Secrets of a Restaurant Chef” for nine.
“Anne was a remarkable person and culinary talent – teaching, competing and always sharing the importance of food in her life and the joy that a delicious meal can bring,” a rep for the Food Network told The Post in a statement shortly after the news of Burrell’s passing.

“Our thoughts are with Anne’s family, friends and fans during this time of tremendous loss,” they added.
Several of Burrell’s close friends and colleagues have also broken their silence on the beloved chef’s tragic death.
“The news about Anne has truly shaken us. John and I are heartbroken,” Rachael Ray, who not only worked with Burrell but also served as a bridesmaid in her 2021 wedding to Claxton, wrote on Instagram Wednesday.

“I can’t quite believe it,” Ray added, “such a strong, vibrant, fearless woman, so full of life and love, could be gone so soon.”
Chef Tyler Florence, who also starred as a judge and co-host on several seasons of “Worst Cooks in America” during its 28-year run, remembered Burrell as a “legendary chef” and an “even better friend.”
“Anne was a legendary chef and an even better friend,” he told The Post. “She was the kind of person who showed up – for dinners, our kids birthday parties, or a swim in the ocean – and lit up every room she walked into.”
