Ozzy Osbourne’s Daughter Aimee Speaks Out First Time in Years, Reveals Painful Truth About Her Father

Ozzy Osbourne’s daughter Aimee Osbourne has opened up about her father’s difficult medical journey following a botched surgery in 2018. The revelations came in the new documentary, Ozzy: No Escape From Now, reported by Variety.

In the documentary “Ozzy: No Escape From Now,” Aimee reflected on the challenges of watching her father suffer through medical complications and the limitations of medical care.

“We’re kind of raised to believe that doctors are superheroes, in a way,” she said. “And although they’re very skilled — some of them — a lot of them really don’t have the answers.”

Aimee described witnessing her father’s deteriorating condition following the surgery.

“He’s had many accidents that I’ve seen, but you could tell this was not one he was going to get away with in the same way,” she continued. “He was in great distress and a lot of pain…. I can’t imagine many people are used to seeing their parents like that.”

Sharon Osbourne also spoke about discovering the extent of the surgical errors that had been made.

“We finally found a surgeon that said, ‘They were overly aggressive with your operation. They’ve done stuff that you didn’t need doing,’” Sharon explained. “And what this other surgeon had done was, he’d put plates either side with all these screws and apparently that didn’t need to be done. So he caused even more damage. They took out the metal plates and the screws that were in Ozzy and tried to patch up as much as he could, but the main damage was done.”

The revelations in the documentary shed new light on the severity of Ozzy’s medical struggles and the lasting impact of the surgical complications on both the rock legend and his family.

Fox News reported that the 2018 neck surgeries intended to address a fall-related spinal injury instead left Ozzy with severe nerve damage and mobility loss. His family, including Aimee, have publicly attributed these complications to medical error and unnecessary procedures. The damage overshadowed even the effects of his Parkinson’s disease.

The cascade of health problems that followed the botched surgery had profound consequences for the Black Sabbath frontman. WMMR noted that the complications were compounded by the cumulative toll of repeated surgical interventions and the onset of additional spinal injuries. Doctors described Ozzy’s case as “very, very difficult” due to the complexity and risks involved in further operations. After multiple procedures, Ozzy admitted being “fed up” with surgery but continued to experience chronic pain, especially in his lower back where vertebrae had “disintegrated” after an earlier accident.

The documentary reportedly includes revealing comments from Sharon Osbourne about the lasting damage caused by the botched surgeries. It offers a candid look at the family’s ordeal and the emotional toll of Ozzy’s health decline. The film provides firsthand insight into how the surgeries dramatically altered Ozzy’s quality of life and how the family coped with his deteriorating condition.

Chaoszine detailed that Ozzy’s health continued to deteriorate after the surgeries, leading to years of chronic pain and further spinal problems. In the weeks before his death in July 2025, he was hospitalized for cardiac issues, including an arrhythmia and a severely blocked heart valve. His doctors deemed these complications too dangerous to operate on due to his other conditions and medications. The singer himself acknowledged that the cascade of health crises began with the 2018 surgical interventions.

Despite the severity of his health struggles, Ozzy was able to perform one last time at the “Back to the Beginning” farewell concert with Black Sabbath in July 2025, just days before his death. This performance was a testament to his determination but also a stark reminder of how much his physical abilities had been diminished by the surgeries and their aftermath.
