Original Saliva Singer Josey Scott Attacks Bobby Amaru in His New Song

Original Saliva frontman Josey Scott has released two new singles that appear to target his replacement, Bobby Amaru, as Nashville producer ScatteredBrains reported on Instagram.

The two tracks, titled “Who?” and “Famous,” come less than two months after the current SALIVA lineup, led by Amaru, released their own single, “Hit ‘Em Where It Hurts,” which seemed to take aim at Scott in its lyrics.

Nashville producer ScatteredBrains, who worked on both songs, addressed the releases in a statement about Scott’s return to music.

“Long time coming, about 15 years to be exact,” ScatteredBrains said. “The first single ‘Who?’ from Josey Scott has arrived !!! I am beyond proud of this song and Josey for finding the strength to push back and push forward during a time where he’s being bullied out of his own god damn legacy, his creation, his band Saliva.”

The producer continued to express support for Scott’s claim to the Saliva legacy.

“Please listen, like, share, and spread the message that there is only one real Saliva and that is with Josey at the driver’s seat,” he continued. “If the fans are ready, Josey’s ready to give y’all that real shit like he never left !!! I know y’all all tired of watching a cover band play his music, we are too.”

The tension between Scott and the current Saliva lineup has been building for years. It is rooted in the circumstances of his original departure from the band he founded.

Scott left Saliva in 2011, Alternative Nation noted. The true reasons for his exit were initially obscured by a press-friendly narrative. While the public explanation suggested he wanted to focus on a Christian solo music career, Scott later clarified this was not accurate. He stated that the narrative about pursuing Christian music was mainly put out by management at the time. In reality, he felt the music and image of Saliva from 10-15 years prior no longer represented who he was.

Bobby Amaru replaced Scott as Saliva’s frontman in 2012, about a year after his departure, Blabbermouth confirmed. The relationship between the two singers has deteriorated significantly in recent months. Scott accused Amaru of “talking out of both sides of his neck” and treating him like a “former disgruntled employee.”

The feud reignited after statements from Amaru implying Scott had “quitter’s remorse,” which Scott strongly denies. Though there was some reconciliation when Scott performed three songs with the band at the Blue Ridge Rock Festival in 2022 alongside Amaru, relations have soured again as of late 2025, ThePRP detailed.

The releases mark an escalation in the ongoing tension between Scott and the current SALIVA lineup over the band’s legacy. Both sides are now using their music as a platform to air their grievances publicly.
