Mr. Bungle’s Mike Patton Issues Statement After M. Shadows’ Vocal Injury Forcing Them to Postpone Tour

Mike Patton of Mr. Bungle has issued a public statement addressing the postponement of upcoming Latin American tour dates following Avenged Sevenfold’s health-related cancellations, as reported on Instagram.

The statement addressed the disappointment of having to cancel multiple shows across South America due to the circumstances affecting their tour partners.

“Hey friends, as many of you may have heard, our friends Avenged Sevenfold have had to postpone their tour due to health issues,” Patton said. “We were scheduled to join them on several dates across Latin America, and unfortunately, this means we must also cancel our September/October shows in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Mexico.”

Patton expressed regret for the impact on fans who had made plans to attend the shows.

“We’re truly sorry to everyone who bought tickets and made plans to spend time with us,” he continued. “Our South American fans have always shown us so much love, and it hurts not to be there with you right now.”

The musician also indicated that efforts are underway to reschedule the affected dates.

“We are already working with Avenged to try and reschedule these shows, and we promise to be back as soon as possible with something special just for you,” Patton concluded.

Avenged Sevenfold faces serious health issues that have forced the band to make difficult decisions about their touring schedule.

Metal Addicts reported that Avenged Sevenfold’s frontman M. Shadows is suffering from a vocal fold hematoma. This condition affects the vocal cords and requires extended rest for proper healing. This medical issue has prompted the band to postpone their entire tour until 2026. The postponement gives M. Shadows adequate time to recover without risking permanent damage to his voice.

The postponement represents a significant disruption to both bands’ touring plans. The Latin American leg was expected to be a major highlight of their joint tour. The affected dates span across multiple countries where both Mr. Bungle and Avenged Sevenfold have cultivated dedicated fanbases over the years.

Fans who purchased tickets for the September and October shows are being advised to hold onto their tickets as both bands work together to establish new dates. The collaboration between the two acts was highly anticipated. This anticipation was particularly strong given Mike Patton’s diverse musical background and Avenged Sevenfold’s massive following in South America.

The cancellations affect shows scheduled for September and October across four South American countries. Both bands remain committed to returning once M. Shadows has fully recovered from his vocal injury.
