Kim Mathers Steps Out with New Look and Renewed Focus
Kim Mathers, the former spouse of hip-hop icon Eminem, was recently seen indulging in some retail therapy, stocking up on beauty products after being photographed taking a nap in her car. Exclusive photos and video obtained by The U.S. Sun captured Mathers, 49, with a bruised face and a bandaged thumb, though the cause of these injuries remains unknown. Despite this, she appeared to be in good spirits, enjoying her shopping excursion near her Michigan home.

While her famous ex, Eminem, has seemingly retired his bleach-blonde alter ego with his upcoming album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce), Kim continues to embrace hair dye. For years, she sported long tresses, but she now rocks a short, spiked haircut, often styled with gel and adorned with a bandana.

The mother-of-four was observed napping outside a Sally Beauty Supply store for nearly an hour before heading inside. Despite having the financial means to visit a salon, it appears Kim prefers a do-it-yourself approach to her hair care, as she was seen leaving the store with at least four large bags filled with hair products. This stands in contrast to Eminem, who abandoned his blonde look years ago and now sports a brunette style with a beard, a look seen at their daughter Hailie Jade’s recent wedding.

A Reclusive Life and Reconciled Family Bonds
Kim Mathers generally prefers a more reclusive lifestyle compared to her ex-husband. However, she was recently reunited with Eminem at their daughter Hailie Jade’s wedding in Detroit, where Hailie, 29, tied the knot with her fiancé Evan McClintock. This reunion highlights their commitment to co-parenting and putting past differences aside for their children’s sake.
In recent years, Kim has visibly expanded her tattoo collection, now boasting numerous large and intricate designs. Notably, she covered a substantial tribal tattoo on her top right arm with a striking gothic inking, featuring the word “Artemis” in prominent lettering. In Greek mythology, Artemis is revered as the goddess of the moon, wild animals, and the hunt. Kim, who has openly discussed her past struggles with rehab and mental health, also bears the words “born, regret” tattooed on her neck. Additionally, she has the phrase “some destruction is beautiful” and a cross design on her left shoulder. Her large, colorful Cheshire Cat design on her top left arm reflects her known affinity for Alice In Wonderland. For her recent outing, she showcased these inkings in a white vest top, paired with slim-fit jeans and white Nike sneakers, accessorizing with a chain, bracelets, rings, and a small purple purse.

The U.S. Sun exclusively reported last year that Kim has been doing much better since her mental health scare following the passing of her mother, Kathy Sluck, in 2022. She received treatment for addiction at a facility in Detroit, Michigan, signaling a focus on her well-being.
While Hailie is Eminem’s only biological child with Kim, their family dynamic is broader. They adopted Alaina in the early 2000s after Alaina’s mother, Kim’s sister Dawn Scott, tragically died of a drug overdose. Alaina was raised by Kim and Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, and considers them both her parents. Eminem also later adopted Kim’s child from her first marriage to Eric Hartter, Stevie Laine, who now uses they/them pronouns. All three of the rapper’s children, along with his brother Nathan, are referenced in his new album, his first record in four years. Stevie and Alaina have both appeared on Hailie’s podcast, Just A Little Shady, though their parents have yet to record with their daughter. Kim also has a fourth child, Parker, believed to be in his teens, who lives with her and was last seen publicly grabbing pizza last year.

Eminem and Kim’s relationship has been notably tumultuous, marked by two marriages and two divorces (1999-2001 and 2006-2007). Their turbulent history included Kim suing the rapper for defamation over the violent lyrics in his song “Kim” shortly after their first divorce filing, a matter they later settled out of court. Kim also spoke publicly about their difficult relationship on ABC’s 20/20 in 2007, stating, “Money is great, but it doesn’t make your husband stay at home with you.” Despite these challenges, they are believed to have put their past differences behind them in recent years, focusing on a more amicable relationship for the sake of their children.
