John Foster Shares How His Uncle Shaped His Music Career<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

American Idol<\/em> finalist John Foster<\/a> recently shared how he never planned to have a career in music, but a family member was the catalyst to push him to take this path.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The country singer explained that growing up, he wanted to be a paleontologist or doctor, and being a \u201crock star\u201d was never on his mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI never wanted to be a musician. I\u2019m not one of those people that you know was 3 or 4 or 5 years old and said \u2018I wanna be a huge rock star one day,’\u201d Foster said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

However, Foster\u2019s uncle had deep connections in the music industry and encouraged him to sing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSo my uncle Galen Martin is the reason I\u2019m a musician, I\u2019ll tell \u2013 I\u2019ll tell everybody that,\u201d the Louisiana-native said. \u201cAnd so when I started to kind of feel out music and think about exactly what I may wanna do, he was there to push me, sometimes physically push me on the stage.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
