The Ghost frontman revealed that he\u2019s taking a different approach than usual. He is choosing not to plan several steps ahead for the band\u2019s future.<\/p>\n
When asked why he\u2019s not thinking several steps ahead for Ghost like he normally does, Forge explained his current mindset. \u201cI\u2019m feeling like, I am simply not going to go into the studio when I\u2019m done with this tour,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He elaborated on this decision. He expressed a sense of relief about the break from his usual routine.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t know when I\u2019m going to be in the studio the next time and that\u2019s a good feeling because I\u2019ve been doing this nonstop now,\u201d Forge continued. \u201cIt\u2019s a great feeling.\u201d<\/p>\n
This marks a notable shift for the artist. He has been working continuously on Ghost projects and is now looking forward to some time away from the recording studio after the current tour concludes.<\/p>\n
Forge\u2019s decision to step back comes after an intense period of creative output and touring. Louder Sound reported that the frontman admitted to hitting a burnout wall by the end of 2024 after years of nonstop touring and back-to-back recording cycles spanning 15 years.<\/p>\n
Ghost released their sixth studio album Skelet\u00e1 on April 25, 2025. The album has been described as their most introspective work to date. Wikipedia noted that the album focuses on timeless human emotions like love, hope, and regret, marking a departure from some of the band\u2019s previous thematic approaches. The release was accompanied by singles \u201cSatanized,\u201d \u201cLachryma,\u201d and \u201cPeacefield.\u201d It also introduced a new persona, Papa V Perpetua.<\/p>\n
The band has been on a major world tour throughout 2025. The tour started in April in Manchester and covered Europe and North America through August. WMMR revealed that Forge implemented a phone ban during shows to encourage presence and enjoyment. He defended the decision as enhancing the concert experience for fans.<\/p>\n
For the first time in his career, Forge deliberately took a break from the usual cycle of immediately preparing for tours and recording new music. He emphasized that this pause was necessary for his wellbeing. He hinted that such breaks would be part of his future approach.
