Ace Frehley played what turned out to be his final concert at the Uptown Theater in Providence, RI on Sept. 5, 2025.<\/p>\n
Five weeks later, the Kiss co-founder was dead at the age of 74, having suffered an accident in his studio from which he didn\u2019t recover.<\/p>\n

As has been the case for some time, Frehley fans were divided over the quality and quantity of songs he delivered with bandmates Marti Frederiksen, Pearl Adaz and Scot Coogan.
\n\u201cI was at the show,\u201d rocknrollallnight wrote on KissFAQ. \u201cAce was in good spirits, he was playing well, and the band sounded great. The set list was shortened \u2013 he dropped two great ones\u2026<\/p>\n
\u201cI met Ace after the show and he was very nice. He was talkative, polite and in a good mood. I have met him many times over the years and that isn\u2019t always the case.\u201d<\/p>\n
Reporting that the venue wasn\u2019t fully sold, the fan suggested it was a result of Frehley\u2019s previous visit, which had been ruined by technical issues. \u201cI\u2019ve heard from some fans \u2026 that they wouldn\u2019t go see him again because of it. But in my opinion they missed out\u2026 [it] was one of his better shows in this area in a while.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nAnother fan, stylehaus, made a surprisingly accurate prediction about Frehley\u2019s future, admitting that they\u2019d been worried about his voice for years but describing the show as \u201cpretty good.\u201d<\/p>\n
They added: \u201cI\u2019m glad I went. As easy as it might be to make fun of Ace, he\u2019s the only member left who\u2019s consistently playing Kiss songs on the road. Once he stops \u2013 and I guarantee that when that does happen it\u2019ll be sudden \u2013 there\u2019s gonna be a big hole left behind.\u201d<\/p>\n
