Michael Eavis has stated that Glastonbury Festival in 2025 was his favourite in the history of the event.<\/p>\n
To celebrate his 90th birthday on October 17th, Eavis has reflected on his life and Glastonbury Festival during a new interview on their official website.<\/p>\n
He shared, \u201cDo you know, I always think that the most recent one is the best one. I really do. But there really were all kinds of threats to its existence over the years. The chairman of the magistrates once said to me, \u2018If you do this again, you\u2019ve had it\u2019. And now look at it!\u201d<\/p>\n
The festival founder also revealed that Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts\u2019 headline set on the Pyramid Stage was his highlight from the latest iteration of the festival.<\/p>\n
Eavis said, \u201cMy top act was Neil Young on the Saturday night. He was so good. He really loves performing here and he played such a great set.\u201d<\/p>\n
In the same interview, Eavis also revealed the one piece of advice that he would go back in time to tell his 35-year-old self who founded Glastonbury in 1970, sharing, \u201cI think the main thing is that, in those days, I was always at war with the council and the village and the local magistrates and the police. And it came good.\u201d<\/p>\n
He passionately continued, \u201cWhich is extraordinary, really. But the fight was really what made it work, there\u2019s no doubt about that. It was certainly worth it!\u201d<\/p>\n
Next year, Glastonbury is set to take a fallow year and will not return until 2027. It was recently confirmed that it will run from June 23rd to June 27th, 2027.<\/p>\n
In June, Eavis\u2019 daughter, Emily Eavis, who now books the festival, confirmed that Glastonbury were already looking ahead to the future, sharing, \u201cI\u2019ve just booked my first headliner for 2028. 2028! That\u2019s how far ahead we are at the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n
She also said they were \u201cnearly there\u201d in terms of the 2027 event. However, it will likely be at least another year before Glastonbury shares any names from the line-up.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
