\u201cI just wish I would have been better, you know? I was so wrapped up in everything backstage,\u201d Hagar said. \u201cBy the time it\u2019s time to go on, I\u2019m backstage talking to somebody and I hear the guy yell, \u2018Yeah, the Red Rocker, Sammy Hagar,\u2019 and I\u2019m going, \u2018Holy Shit.\u2019 I ran out, unprepared.\u201d<\/p>\n
The veteran rocker admitted that his lack of preparation led to forgetting lyrics during the first verse. This prompted him to apologize backstage afterward.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn my head, I should have been singing the lyrics over because I didn\u2019t want to use the teleprompter. And sure enough, I choked the first verse and spit it out,\u201d he continued. \u201cOzzy\u2019s people, when I came back, I just apologize to Ozzy\u2019s people. They\u2019re going, \u2018Oh, you know, don\u2019t worry. You did what Ozzy probably would have done.\u2019 They tried to make me feel good that Ozzy never remembered his lyrics either.\u201d<\/p>\n
