Things weren\u2019t all smooth-sailing on the set of the upcoming Channing Tatum movie, Roofman. The actor has revealed that he sustained a gruesome injury in a scene he shot with Peter Dinklage.<\/p>\n
Based on a true story, Roofman follows former soldier and professional thief Jeffrey Manchester, who escapes from prison and finds a hideout inside a Toys R Us, surviving undetected for months while planning his next move. However, when Jeffrey falls for a divorced mother, his double life starts to unravel.<\/p>\n
Dinklage plays Mitch in the film, the general manager at the Toys \u201cR\u201d Us who discovers Tatum one night as he is taking a shower. Upon getting caught, Tatum attempts to flee, but stumbles into a whole host of obstacles on his way out. True to the script, shooting the scene was a bit of a disaster for the pair.<\/p>\n
Tatum recalled the specific shoot to Entertainment Weekly, sharing, \u201cI mean, it wasn\u2019t great, because I\u2019m butt naked, so I can\u2019t wear pads or anything. So I was wet and soapy, and it was just a messy scene. I did actually get hurt jumping up onto the bike rack, and then I had to do the funny jump into my little hideaway.\u201d<\/p>\n
However, this was where the issue lay. He continued, \u201cI didn\u2019t make it over the edge of the hideaway, and I gashed my [leg]. I still have a scar from it on my leg, and we just had to glue it together and keep going.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Blink Twice actor also gushed about working alongside Dinklage, recalling his first words when they met: \u201cI\u2019m like, \u2018Hello, Mr. Dinklage. I\u2019m Channing. We\u2019re going to have an experience today. But he\u2019s such a man. He is a legend. He\u2019s an absolute legend.\u201d<\/p>\n
Reflecting on Roofman, Tatum admitted, \u201cHe\u2019s kind of my favorite part of the movie, secretly on the down low, don\u2019t tell Kirsten [Dunst, who plays the love interest, Leigh Wainscott]. Yeah, he just made things easy and funny and fun.\u201d<\/p>\n
