\u201cThank you. Thank you very much. I just wanna take a couple of minutes\u2026 And I had to bring my phone out with me so I could look at my notes,\u201d Hansen said. \u201cI just wanna do one group hug. Secondly, I just wanna thank the crew. There are many people who, every day, drive long hours in the middle of the night to get here very early in the morning to set up this gear, to set up these lights to make us look and sound as good as we possibly can.\u201d<\/p>\n
Hansen also praised the band\u2019s management team, particularly Phil Carson and Stewart Young, for their dedication over the years.<\/p>\n
\u201cPhil Carson\u2019s over here. He\u2019s English. And many times we\u2019ve clashed because he wants to do some crazy bullshit thing and I have to call him out and I have to say, \u2018No, we can\u2019t do it.\u2019 And he\u2019s still here. This man is a fucking juggernaut and he\u2019s 80 years old and he\u2019s a motherfucker,\u201d Hansen continued. \u201cAlong with Merrie Hart and Stewart, they\u2019ve just done amazing things for this band over 20 years.\u201d<\/p>\n
The singer expressed deep appreciation for the fans who have supported him throughout his career.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf I could even string together the number of times that I\u2019ve had experiences with fans \u2014 or I don\u2019t like to call you guys fans; I like to call you guys people who love music, appreciate music. My whole life, since I was 17, it\u2019s been great people who come to shows. Thank you for that,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wanna thank my wife. [She] changed my life. I got married for the first time at 59 years old,\u201d he shared.<\/p>\n

Maldonado had already gained experience as Foreigner\u2019s interim lead singer during a Latin American tour before being officially announced as Hansen\u2019s permanent successor.
