The Department of Homeland Security have responded after Chappell Roan recently criticised ICE at a recent concert in California.<\/p>\n
On October 10th, the \u2018Pink Pony Club\u2019 singer performed at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, and used the performance as an opportunity to share her disapproval over the ongoing ICE raids in the United States, telling fans, \u201cFuck ICE forever\u201d.<\/p>\n
Footage of the comment by Roan quickly circulated on social media, which has led to the Department of Homeland Security responding to the matter.<\/p>\n
In a statement to TMZ, the Department of Homeland Security\u2019s Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs, Tricia McLaughlin, said: \u201c\u2018Pink Pony Club\u2019 is good. Pedophiles are bad. That\u2019s who we\u2019re getting off of our streets. Get a grip.\u201d<\/p>\n
Earlier this week, McLaughlin criticised singer-songwriter Zach Bryan after he shared a snippet of an unreleased song, titled \u2018Bad News\u2019, which also seemingly denounced the ICE raids.<\/p>\n
On the song, Bryan sings, \u201cAnd ICE is gonna come, bust down your door, Try to build a house no one builds no more, But I got a telephone, Kids are all scared and all alone, The Boss stopped bumping, the rock stopped rolling, The middle fingers rising and it won\u2019t stop showing, I got some bad news, The fading of the red, white and blue.\u201d<\/p>\n
In response, McLaughlin said that Bryan should \u201cstick to \u2018Pink Skies\u2019,\u201d referencing his single from 2024\u2019s chart-topping The Great American Bar Scene.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson also referenced his songs while denouncing \u2018Bad News\u2019, stating, \u201cSomething in the Orange tells me a majority of Americans disagree with him and support President Trump\u2019s great American Revival.\u201d<\/p>\n
Bryan later clarified that this \u201csong is about how much I love this country and everyone in it more than anything\u201d and said of the reaction to the snippet, \u201cI wasn\u2019t speaking as a politician or some greater-than-thou asshole, just a 29 year old man who is just as confused as everyone else.
