His wife, Shannon Simmons, spoke with NBC4 Los Angeles and confirmed that the musician is now recovering at home. She noted that doctors had recently changed his medication and advised him to drink more water, which he\u2019s not particularly fond of.<\/p>\n
Following the accident, Simmons addressed the situation on his Twitter account. \u201cThanks, everybody, for the kind wishes. I\u2019m completely fine,\u201d he said. \u201cI had a slight fender bender. It happens. Especially to those of us were horrible drivers. And that\u2019s me. All is well.\u201d<\/p>\n
The accident occurred when the 76-year-old musician\u2019s SUV careened across several lanes of traffic on the Pacific Coast Highway before striking the parked vehicle. NBC4 Los Angeles revealed that Simmons told first responders that he passed out or fainted prior to the collision. Authorities confirmed this at the scene.<\/p>\n
Shannon Tweed later clarified that her husband is \u201cdoing just fine.\u201d She attributed the episode to a recent change in his medication. The connection between the medication adjustment and his fainting episode appears to be the primary factor in the incident, as NBC4 Los Angeles noted.
