Shulman explained his band\u2019s decision to avoid reunion tours, despite lucrative offers over the years.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe had lots of other we had lots of offers to reform, to do tours for lots and lots of money,\u201d Shulman said. \u201cAnd one thing I would never do, and I don\u2019t think any of the band would like to, is either be a tribute band, or legacy band; or a band that\u2019s trying to get into size 30 waist, when you\u2019re in your dad bod, and become parodies of what you were. That\u2019s something I feel a little odd about.\u201d<\/p>\n
The singer expressed discomfort watching veteran artists struggle to recapture their former glory.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt really hurts me to see artists trying to be who they were when they were younger, and not being able to pull it off,\u201d he continued. \u201cAnd they should not try. I don\u2019t know. I mean, I feel uncomfortable watching Jon Bon Jovi try to be what he was 30-odd years ago, but he said that now, which is good.\u201d<\/p>\n
Shulman acknowledged that Bon Jovi has been public about his vocal struggles. However, he maintained his criticism of other artists who continue performing despite declining abilities.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s public about it, but I\u2019ve seen other artists, as you mentioned, a couple of others, and seeing some on YouTube that I won\u2019t even mention,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s embarrassing to me that they would present themselves in a way that is not how they used to be. And I don\u2019t know why they do it, honestly.\u201d<\/p>\n
Shulman\u2019s comments come as Bon Jovi has been navigating significant vocal challenges in recent years.<\/p>\n
