Slaughter to Prevail frontman Alex Terrible has responded to negative reactions following his announcement of the band\u2019s planned two-year hiatus. He addressed the criticism in a candid statement shared on\u00a0Instagram.<\/p>\n

The vocalist recently revealed that after an extensive touring schedule in 2026, the band will take a break in 2027 and 2028 to focus on writing music and family time. However, the announcement sparked unexpected hostility from some commenters.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter my announcement that my group and I are taking a 2-year break, many magazines picked up the article and reposted it. I go on Facebook to read what people are saying and, surprisingly enough, many comments are along the lines of: \u2018Why only 2 years? Make it forever!\u2019 or like, \u2018Wow, that\u2019s the best news today.\u2019 And there are a lot of comments like that,\u201d Terrible said.<\/p>\n

The singer questioned the motivation behind such reactions, suggesting jealousy as a possible explanation.<\/p>\n

\u201cI only ask myself one question: are you jealous? Because I can\u2019t find any other reason. If you don\u2019t like our music, that\u2019s fine! But if you don\u2019t like our music and at every possible opportunity you throw in your two cents under an article about us\u2014that\u2019s obsession. You can\u2019t imagine how many toxic followers I have. They watch my life and constantly write to me saying they hate me. Or they just hate me for no reason. Is that what success is?\u201d<\/p>\n

Terrible reflected on the broader pattern of negativity directed at successful underground bands.<\/p>\n

\u201cI see the same thing happening to all popular bands that came out of the underground. So much envy and venom from people who can\u2019t get their own lives together. I\u2019m just as ordinary a person as all of you. Success didn\u2019t fall on my head. I built it myself and keep on developing. And damn, it\u2019s so strange to open my messages and see text from complete strangers like: \u2018I hate you, I want to kill you,\u2019 etc.\u201d<\/p>\n

The vocalist expressed concern about the nature of some of the hostile messages he receives.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I look at their pages, I see they\u2019re someone\u2019s husband or wife with kids. And I\u2019m like\u2014seriously? These are the people around me? When you become popular, you start to understand a lot. For example, how many mentally ill people live right next to you.\u201d<\/p>\n
