Heafy\u2019s comments aimed to clarify fan questions about what happened with the tour that was supposed to run from January through December.<\/p>\n
\u201cEveryone is kind of wondering, \u2018Hey, The Poisoned Ascendancy was supposed to be a world tour. You and that other band [Bullet For My Valentine] said this is gonna be a world tour from January through December,’\u201d Heafy said. \u201cWell, we did \u2014 we flew over to the U.K. to do a press conference [with Bullet For My Valentine], promising a world tour from January through December.\u201d<\/p>\n
He continued with a pointed reference to their former tour partners.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou know the old saying \u2018it takes two to tango\u2019 \u2014 well, our dance partner dropped off after three months of touring, and we\u2019re, like, \u2018We wanna keep playing,’\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Heafy emphasized that there was no drama beyond different priorities regarding touring.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve had people say, \u2018Hey, what was the drama with this story?\u2019 It\u2019s just that we wanted to play shows, and someone else didn\u2019t. So we\u2019re gonna keep playing shows,\u201d he explained. \u201cThat\u2019s why you\u2019re gonna see us at the Aftershock. That\u2019s why we\u2019ve got this Trivium, Jinjer, Heriot tour. We\u2019ve got an EP called \u2018Struck Dead\u2019 coming out in October. We\u2019re already writing record eleven at the same time.\u201d<\/p>\n
The frontman concluded by outlining Trivium\u2019s pivot to new touring plans.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo there\u2019s no stopping us, man. It\u2019s incredible. So this new tour is a pivot. It\u2019s not the Ascendancy tour; it\u2019s the Struck Dead tour. So we\u2019re playing greatest hits of everything we\u2019ve ever done, plus the new EP,\u201d Heafy said.<\/p>\n
