Magdalena Bay have returned with their twinkling indie-pop double single, \u2018Second Sleep\u2019 and \u2018Star Eyes\u2019, following up their 2024 sophomore album Imaginal Disk.<\/p>\n
The pair shared of the new songs, \u201c\u2018Second Sleep\u2019 and \u2018Star Eyes\u2019 are two songs we made around the end of Imaginal Disk\u2013both a sort of spiritual successor to the album\u2019s mood and emotional arc. We like how they complement each other, so here they are as a pair.\u201d<\/p>\n
The official video accompanying the free-wheeling \u2018Second Sleep\u2019 was directed by Amalia Irons and shows lead singer Mica Tenenbaum traipsing through a cold blue city scape, encountering odd characters on her way. \u201cSecond sleep is calling out to me \/ If I don\u2019t wake up, oh \/ I have the sense not to make a mess.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Los Angeles duo are currently in the middle of a sold-out North American tour. In July, they supported Billie Eilish at London\u2019s O2 Arena, and will return to the UK and Europe in early 2026. They bring a surrealist, psychedelic story to each of their live shows, despite their early roots in prog-rock.<\/p>\n
The pair have an impressive history of playing with the best artists in the pop and alternative world. They have sold out multiple headline tours and played numerous festivals around the world\u2014including Coachella, Primavera Sound, and Lollapalooza.<\/p>\n
They have also recently teased the release of their long-awaited album movie. Directed by Amanda Kramer and written and edited by Tenenbaum and Matthew Lewin, the film elaborates on the world of Imaginal Disk. A press release promises that further details are \u201cimminent.\u201d<\/p>\n
