\u201cI\u2019m not gonna talk anything negative about my old situations or anything like that. People leave bands for their own reasons. Let\u2019s just say I was stagnant in my old situation,\u201d Bittner said. \u201cI was not happy with where I was in a business sense with Overkill.\u201d<\/p>\n
The drummer elaborated on feeling undervalued in his role with the band.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was basically giving more of myself than I was getting in return. And after almost eight years, I had pretty much had enough of that,\u201d he continued. \u201cAnd when I knew that there wasn\u2019t even any negotiation aspect to anything, I\u2019m, like, \u2018Okay, well, it\u2019s time to start thinking about myself.’\u201d<\/p>\n
Bittner used a relatable comparison to illustrate his frustration with the financial arrangement.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen you go to a job, when you start a job, do you ever go to a job \u2014 I don\u2019t care what job it is; it could be McDonald\u2019s \u2014 do you ever go to a job and never get a raise after eight years? This is not a hypothetical situation. This is a true story,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
Bittner\u2019s departure marks the end of a significant chapter in both his career and Overkill\u2019s history. The drummer brought considerable experience and credentials to the band.<\/p>\n
