The rumours began circulating after\u00a0The Mail on Sunday\u00a0<\/em>reported that the\u00a0Harry Potter\u00a0<\/em>author had convinced Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, John McVie and Mick Fleetwood to reunite for one night only. The party, which will celebrate the author\u2019s 60th birthday and will last for two days, is reportedly James Bond themed.<\/p>\n However, Fleetwood Mac were quick to respond to the growing rumours. \u201cThis is categorically false,\u201d a representative for Fleetwood Mac told\u00a0Rolling Stone<\/em>. \u201cIt\u2019s not in the realm of true.\u201d<\/p>\n The iconic band last played live in 2019 in San Francisco. When singer-keyboardist Christine McVie died in 2022, Nicks insisted the group were all but over. \u201cThere is no more Fleetwood Mac now, because when Christine died, Fleetwood Mac died,\u201d she\u00a0shared.<\/p>\n Rowling often gets huge names to perform at her gatherings; Blondie performed at Rowling\u2019s Bonfire Night party in 2017. However, many artists have distanced themselves from the events, as JK Rowling has become a polarising figure in recent times due to her perspective on transgender rights.<\/p>\n Recently, otherwise long-term friend Stephen Frey opened up about the Scottish writer, whom he believes has been \u201cradicalised\u201d and is a \u201clost cause\u201d. Pedro Pascal has said that Rowling \u201cmakes him sick,\u201d after she publicly celebrated a ruling that deemed gender can only be delineated via sex, thereby suggesting trans women aren\u2019t women, and trans men aren\u2019t legally men.<\/p>\n Though Fleetwood Mac won\u2019t be reuniting, earlier this year it was confirmed that\u00a0Buckingham and Fleetwood\u00a0had reunited in the studio to work on Fleetwood Mac drummer\u2019s upcoming solo album.
