In a heartfelt conversation on SiriusXM\u2019s \u201cTrunk Nation with Eddie Trunk\u201d<\/em>, legendary guitarist Tony Iommi<\/strong> shared rare insights into Black Sabbath\u2019s emotional farewell performance<\/strong>, titled \u201cBack to the Beginning\u201d<\/em>, which took place on July 5th at Villa Park in Birmingham, UK<\/strong> \u2014 the band\u2019s hometown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This special event marked the reunion of the original Black Sabbath members, including Ozzy Osbourne<\/strong>, for what is widely seen as a final bow to their decades-spanning legacy. Reflecting on the lead-up to the show, Iommi admitted it had been a long time since he had seen his bandmates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt was hairy wondering what\u2019s gonna happen, really,\u201d Iommi confessed. \u201cBecause Bill, when he plays, he plays different things every time. So you just have to be on your toes.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Despite the long hiatus, the chemistry between the band members quickly reignited \u2014 but the stakes were high. With a packed stadium and a global livestream audience, the pressure was intense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt was strange for us going on a big stage in front of a big audience, and also being streamed to millions of people,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s very nerve-racking for a one-off show. Normally we would do a tour and we\u2019d be rolling, but to get all worked up for one show and then \u2014 bang, it\u2019s over \u2014 seemed really strange.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
