Ian Hill Drops Some Good News on New Judas Priest Album

Judas Priest bassist Ian Hill has shared promising updates about the band’s plans for a new album, as reported by Audio Ink Radio.

Hill addressed the possibility of a follow-up to the band’s latest album, ‘Invincible Shield.’ He confirmed that studio work is on the horizon.

“There’s plans to go back into the studio in the new year,” Hill said. “So when it’ll be released, I don’t know. It’s a long process. We’re in no rush either, so it’ll be a while. But the recording is gonna happen, it looks like, next year.”

Hill also revealed that guitarist Richie Faulkner has already begun working on material for the upcoming record.

“I know Richie has started writing new music,” he continued. “He’s got quite a few ideas together, yeah. So we’ve got a head start there.”

The band appears to be taking a measured approach to the recording process, with no immediate rush to release the album. This deliberate pace reflects Judas Priest’s commitment to maintaining their high standards while balancing studio work with other commitments.

Judas Priest’s previous album, “Invincible Shield,” released in March 2024, received a positive reception that reinforced the band’s continuing vitality, as Arrow Lords of Metal noted. This recent success sets a strong foundation for the upcoming album and has motivated their forward momentum toward new material.

Hill also confirmed that the band is planning to tour in support of the next album once it is released, Arrow Lords of Metal reported. This highlights that live performances remain a priority in their overall strategy. Fans can expect live shows following the new release.

The band’s cautious approach extends beyond the studio. Judas Priest has canceled at least one upcoming concert in 2025 for unspecified reasons, Suggest revealed. This underscores the band’s measured approach to balancing recording activities and live commitments during this period. It aligns with Hill’s indication that there’s no rush on the album’s release timeline.

With Faulkner already working on new ideas and the band’s studio plans set for 2026, Judas Priest continues to demonstrate their dedication to delivering quality material while maintaining a sustainable pace for the legendary metal act.
