Homeland Security hit back at Chappell Roan after she condemns ICE at recent concert

The Department of Homeland Security have responded after Chappell Roan recently criticised ICE at a recent concert in California.

On October 10th, the ‘Pink Pony Club’ singer performed at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, and used the performance as an opportunity to share her disapproval over the ongoing ICE raids in the United States, telling fans, “Fuck ICE forever”.

Footage of the comment by Roan quickly circulated on social media, which has led to the Department of Homeland Security responding to the matter.

In a statement to TMZ, the Department of Homeland Security’s Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs, Tricia McLaughlin, said: “‘Pink Pony Club’ is good. Pedophiles are bad. That’s who we’re getting off of our streets. Get a grip.”

Earlier this week, McLaughlin criticised singer-songwriter Zach Bryan after he shared a snippet of an unreleased song, titled ‘Bad News’, which also seemingly denounced the ICE raids.

On the song, Bryan sings, “And ICE is gonna come, bust down your door, Try to build a house no one builds no more, But I got a telephone, Kids are all scared and all alone, The Boss stopped bumping, the rock stopped rolling, The middle fingers rising and it won’t stop showing, I got some bad news, The fading of the red, white and blue.”

In response, McLaughlin said that Bryan should “stick to ‘Pink Skies’,” referencing his single from 2024’s chart-topping The Great American Bar Scene.

Meanwhile, the White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson also referenced his songs while denouncing ‘Bad News’, stating, “Something in the Orange tells me a majority of Americans disagree with him and support President Trump’s great American Revival.”

Bryan later clarified that this “song is about how much I love this country and everyone in it more than anything” and said of the reaction to the snippet, “I wasn’t speaking as a politician or some greater-than-thou asshole, just a 29 year old man who is just as confused as everyone else. To see how much shit it stirred up makes me not only embarrassed but kind of scared.”
