Daft Punk announce 20th anniversary reissue of ‘Human After All Remixes’

Daft Punk fans will be delighted to hear that the band has announced the Human After All Remixes 20th anniversary reissue, as well as its first-ever vinyl format.

A limited 2xLP gatefold edition of the ‘Human After All Remixes’ will be released on November 28th, a fitting anniversary celebration for the French house icons’ chart-topping third album.

The vinyl tracklisting includes remixes from the likes of Basement Jaxx, Soulwax, Justice, and The Juan Maclean. It was originally released on CD exclusively in Japan.

Human After All, the third album from Daft Punk, was originally released in March 2005. The project was produced in just six weeks, representing a major departure from the timeline for their previous release, Discovery, which took over two years to produce.

The band aren’t shying away from even bigger celebrations. Alongside the vinyl reissue, they will release a special line of merch, including Super7 ReAction Figures. The figures will depict the duo in their 2005 video for ‘Technologic’, along with guitar accessories and a removable helmet.

Famously, pop legend and one-half of Wham, George Michael, was originally set to feature on Human After All, but the collaboration never materialised. Michael’s long-term collaborator, James Jackson, recalled the singer’s reaction to the offer, explaining, “Daft Punk sent a catalogue of demos for George to potentially write around. Those are in George’s archives. George went to Paris for some sessions.” However, the recordings never made it to the final body of work.

Daft Punk officially split in 2021. The electronic duo then rejected an offer to reunite and perform at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. The artistic director of the Olympics shared at the time, “After discussing a possible presence at the ceremony, the group’s decision is not to participate. I respect this decision and apologise for the ambiguity of my comments.”
