Benji Madden Confirms Good Charlotte Have a Secret Project They’ve Been Saving for Fans

Good Charlotte’s Benji Madden has revealed that the band has been keeping a special project under wraps. He teased fans about exciting developments ahead in an interview with Kerrang!.

Madden shared details about upcoming announcements and creative projects when asked about the band’s plans for the remainder of 2025 and into 2026.

“We have a bunch of announcements coming,” Madden said. “We have a few festivals left this year, then after that we’re gonna work on a few creative things. We’re having a lot of fun ideating on expanding this album.”

The guitarist went on to hint at something particularly special the band has been saving for their fans.

“Plus, there’s something that we’ve kept in our ‘little jewellery box’ for a long time that we’re looking forward to getting out into the world,” he continued. “I think it will be an interesting next 12 months. Between all that and our families, there will be plenty to keep us busy!”

This announcement comes as Good Charlotte continues to build momentum following their recent creative endeavors and festival appearances.

Wikipedia reports that Good Charlotte was formed in 1995 and has become one of the most influential pop-punk bands of their generation. The band’s current lineup has remained stable since 2005. It features Joel Madden on lead vocals, Benji Madden on guitar and vocals, Paul Thomas on bass, Billy Martin on guitar and keyboards, and Dean Butterworth on drums.

The timing of Madden’s announcement is particularly significant given that the band recently released their eighth studio album, Motel Du Cap, in August 2025. This latest release marks another chapter in their evolution as artists. It showcases their continued ability to innovate within the pop-punk genre while maintaining their distinctive sound that has resonated with fans for nearly three decades.

The band’s reference to expanding their current album suggests that the secret project may be connected to Motel Du Cap. This approach would align with modern music industry trends where artists often release extended versions, companion pieces, or multimedia projects to complement their main releases.

Good Charlotte’s commitment to balancing their creative work with family life reflects the maturity the band has gained over their long career. The Madden brothers, in particular, have successfully managed their music careers alongside their personal lives. Both have established families while continuing to tour and create music.

The band appears to be strategically planning their next moves. Their remaining festival commitments for this year serve as a bridge to their upcoming creative projects. Fans can expect the mystery project from their “little jewellery box” to be unveiled sometime in the next 12 months. This will potentially offer a fresh perspective on the band’s artistic direction.
