Avenged Sevenfold has announced rescheduled tour dates for Latin America following M. Shadows’ vocal injury, as shared on Avenged Sevenfold’s Instagram.
The band addressed their fans with an official statement about the new tour schedule and venue changes.
“Latin America — We are thrilled to announce our new dates for January and February 2026,” the band said. “We can’t wait to return early next year to play these shows for you. Thank you for all of your patience and understanding.”
The announcement also included details about venue upgrades due to high demand.
“Due to demand in Chile and Mexico, we have moved into larger venues,” they continued. “Pre-sales begin Monday. Mexico at 9AM local & Chile at 12PM local.”
The rescheduling comes after M. Shadows revealed he had developed a hematoma on his left vocal fold, the same injury he experienced in 2017.
“Hey everyone, I got some discouraging news. We’re gonna have to postpone the Latin American tour,” M. Shadows explained. “I got my voice in some sort of trouble. After Louder than Life festival, I got a little sick and I thought that my throat was feeling crummy for being sick. It felt like it was probably the travel, the schedule, etc.”
He emphasized the importance of making a responsible decision to avoid requiring surgery.
“I have a hematoma on my left vocal fold, which is the same injury I had in 2017. In 2017 though I decided to keep singing, took a bunch of pills and ended up resulting in surgery,” he said. “So basically, if I shut this down now, I’ll have a couple weeks of voice rest and then a couple months of rehab and we’ll be able to remake these dates to you.”
M. Shadows concluded with an apology to fans affected by the postponement.
“So, I got to make the responsible decision here and shut this down. This will be the last time I’m talking for a couple of weeks,” he said. “It breaks my heart that I have to do this. But we’re gonna be able to reschedule these dates for January. Apologies to everyone who’s made plans and spent money.”
The postponement reflects the band’s prioritization of M. Shadows’ long-term vocal health and sustainability, particularly given his history with similar injuries.
WRAT reported that a vocal fold hematoma occurs when blood vessels in the vocal cords rupture, leading to swelling that severely impacts vocal ability and requires rest and sometimes medical treatment. This type of injury can cause temporary or chronic voice problems for singers. It commonly requires vocal rest, therapy, or surgery depending on severity.
M. Shadows’ 2017 vocal injury also forced show cancellations. This highlights the ongoing vulnerability and need for careful vocal care for the singer. His decision to continue performing through that injury ultimately resulted in surgery, a mistake he is determined not to repeat this time around.
The PRP noted that the rescheduled tour will feature supporting acts such as A Day To Remember and Mr. Bungle. This indicates a strong lineup aimed at delivering a diverse and memorable live experience for fans. The 2025 Latin American tour was highly anticipated. The band has maintained an active touring schedule throughout the year, with this tour forming a key part of their international engagements.
The band is now set to return to Latin America in early 2026 with expanded venues to accommodate fan demand. This ensures that the wait will be worth it for their dedicated fanbase.
